It is critical for our youth and families to know the resources available for assistance, if needed in the Durham community. Therefore, there will be a Relationship Violence Program on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Hayti Heritage Center on 804 Old Fayetteville Street, Durham, NC 27701.

Based on the recent deaths of three young females in Durham, the educational program will have a host of community advocates and leaders helping with this initiative. If the murders happened on a college campus or when school was in session, there would be counselors and grief support for teens and young adults. However, due to the time and circumstances of the murders there are youth who are handling this tragedy alone and have raw emotions without tools to address them.

University of Connecticut

UConn is hosting an open house on Septemeber 18, 2011.
