Cobell Scholarship



Administered by Indigenous Education Inc., this scholarship for the academic year 2019-20 is awarded to tribally enrolled American Indian and Alaska Native students. Students must have a competitive GPA and plan to attend college full time at a public or private nonprofit institution. Finalists are selected on merit, leadership, and community engagement, but all final awards are based on financial need.

High School Portfolio Day: Sunday, October 15 Noon – 4 PM

The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University invites area high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in the visual arts to attend our first-ever portfolio day. Representatives from area universities and museums as well as local visual artists will be on hand to review your artwork, provide feedback and advice, and answer questions in a supportive environment. This is a non-competative and fun way to get feedback on your artwork in preparation for applying to college. Your portfolio should include 5-10 pieces of your best and most recent work, but it can also include works in progress, sketchbooks and tear sheets. Come prepared to discuss your creative influences and process. This program is free and open to high school students in Durham, Orange, Person, Granville and Wake Counties.
