Davidson Summer Experience

Greetings from Davidson! July Experience is entering its 43rd summer on Davidson's campus and has evolved over the years, most recently with a transition into the Office of Admission and Financial Aid, and the addition of new leadership.  The goals of the program remain the same: to provide rising high school juniors and seniors with the opportunity to experience life on a liberal arts campus, to explore new academic topics, and to get individualized feedback and mentoring from Davidson professors.  We have some fun, too! Last year the program hosted 81 students from 22 states and 5 countries. Davidson faculty taught 12 courses, 11 Davidson students served as hall counselors and mentors, and several hundred slices of pizza were consumed. Cornell Summer College Program

Greetings, Do you know students who might benefit from college-level summer study at Cornell? If so, please tell them about  Cornell University Summer College Programs for High School Students. Cornell's Summer College is one of the nation's longest running and most highly regarded precollege academic programs. It brings more than 1,500 academically talented high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors from around the world to the Cornell campus in Ithaca, New York, each summer for three- and six-week programs. Summer College students have the unparalleled opportunity to: experience what it's like to live and learn at a great Ivy League university, take real university courses, work closely with Cornell's world-renowned faculty, earn three to six college credits, explore majors and career options, get a jump on successful college applications, make friends from around the world, and much, much more. UNC-Greensboro Visits MCHS

A representative from UNC-G will visit MCHS on January 25th from 9:30-10:30 to speak to interested juniors and seniors. The session will be held in 4-112. Want to attend? Contact Mr. Evans no later than January 22nd to sign up.

Campbell University Visits MCHS

A representative from Campbell University will visit MCHS on January 25th from 1:30-2:30 in 4-112 to do onsite admissions. Seniors will have the opportunity to learn on the spot whether or not they have been admitted and won a scholarship. In order to participate, seniors should do the following... 1. Contact Mr. Evans by January 22nd to sign up for an appointment slot. You may be excused from a high school class but not a college class. 2. Apply to Campbell now using this link . There is no application fee and no essay. 3. Request your official transcript either through your CFNC account or through the MCHS website. 4. Request your official test scores from ACT or CollegeBoard. You can take your transcript and test scores with you to your appointment if you don't send them in advance.
