Couch Oil Cares Scholarship Program

The Couch Oil Cares Scholarship Program is an effort to help local students with the costs of higher education. Again this year, Couch Oil is teaming up with the Durham Bulls to award scholarships to six deserving individuals. The $1,000 scholarship is available to students who have been accepted into either a four-year or community college and reside in a 16-county area surrounding the Triangle. BRITE Futures’ HS Biotechnology Summer Camp

BRITE Futures’ High School Biotechnology Summer Camp is designed to inspire students and give them a head start on identifying careers in science and biotechnology. We provide an experience that is both educational and fun regardless of prior knowledge in genetics and biotechnology Beyond the Basics: Biotechnology Camp for High School Students                                     July 8-12, 2019                     9:00 am - 3:00 pm    Students will perform experiments that include the analysis of DNA using gel electrophoresis, bacterial transformation, column chromatography, PCR, and ELISA. Each experiment acts as a stepping stone for the next day’s work, requiring students to demonstrate proper lab techniques. 2019 Course Substitution Forms

Any student planning to substitute a high school course currently on their schedule for a college course must submit a Course Substitution Form. Links to forms can be found  here .  Substitution forms must be submitted by April 17, 2019.  Students who do not submit a substitution form will not remain scheduled for the high school course.
