Full Scholarship – STEM and Business – Texas A&M

The Brockman Scholars Program invites applications for a merit-based full-ride scholarship that covers five years of study at the College Station campus of Texas A&M University. The Brockman Scholarship supports four years of undergraduate study in an approved Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics (STEM) program followed by the one-year MS Business graduate degree for non-business majors at Texas A&M’s Mays Business School. Top students are encouraged to apply for this prestigious scholarship via the application portal at www.brockmanfoundation.org. Voices of Tufts Diversity Experiences

The Voices of Tufts Diversity Experiences, sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, are overnight programs designed to expose high school seniors to the diversity of the Tufts community. Participants have the opportunity to experience academic and social life by staying in a residence hall with an undergraduate student, attending lectures from professors, eating meals in the dining halls, and watching a student-led showcase by several on-campus performance groups. Travel assistance is available for students for whom the trip would present a financial hardship. 5th Annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) College Fair

The 5 th Annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) College Fair will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina, Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on the campus of Needham Broughton High School in the Holiday Gymnasium. Last year, this FREE College Fair brought over 325 students together to learn about a variety of HBCUs! There will be  workshops and informational sessions on “Paying for College”, “The College Experience” featuring a panel of recent HBCU graduates, and our new program College Admissions Process (CAP).

Camino a la Universidad Event

The Ventanilla de Orientacion Educativa ( Window to Education ) at Raleigh will be collaborating with North Carolina State University on Saturday, December 1st, 2018  from 10 am to 4 pm  to offer a conference on college access for Spanish-speaking families. This conference, Camino a la Universidad  ( Pathway to University) , will provide various resources and information sessions about the college application process. These sessions will include a college essay writing workshop, an NC State University student panel, financial aid & scholarships and more. Many prominent black Americans attended Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). You may already know that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., attended Morehouse College, and Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall attended Lincoln University and Howard University.  But did you also know that the following also attended an HBCU:   Spike Lee: Film director, actor; Morehouse Julius Chambers: Lawyer, civil rights leader; NC Central Toni Morrison: Writer, Pulitzer Prize and Nobel Prize winner; Howard Samuel Jackson: Actor, producer; Morehouse Rev. Durham Tech Fall Fest & College Fair

Along with food, games, and music, Fall Fest will feature four-year university admissions counselors ready to answer your transfer questions. Representatives will be from: Campbell University UNC Wilmington North Carolina State Meredith College UNC Charlotte North Carolina Central Fayetteville State Elon Fall Fest will be  Wed., Oct. 24, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. , on the Main Campus Plaza. If you can’t attend or have more questions, the Transfer College Fair will be  Wed., Oct. 31, from noon to 1:45 p.m.  in the Collins Building (Building 2) foyer. There will be a total of 30 colleges represented, including the ones from Fall Fest,  UNC Chapel Hill and UNC’s School of Nursing, UNC Asheville, UNC Greensboro, NC A&T, Appalachian State, ECU, and Western Carolina .

ECU Honors College Deadlines Extended

The deadline to apply to East Carolina University (including test scores and high school transcript) in order to receive an invitation to apply to the Honors College is now Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018 . The new deadline to apply to the Honors College, once invited, is Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018 .

Latino Open House at NCCU

There will be a special afternoon session to provide information about North Carolina Central University! In this session, we will discuss admissions, financial aid and campus life.  We will also have Latino Student Leaders to answer questions from the high school students and families. Our focus is on Latino students and their families, however, ALL are welcome. Interpretation services will be provided if needed. We will also have lunch.  The event will happen at the NCCU Nursing Building 1402 S. Alston Ave. Durham, NC 27707 from 1-3pm.  Please assist students in the RSVP process if possible.
