High School Portfolio Day: Sunday, October 15 Noon – 4 PM

The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University invites area high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in the visual arts to attend our first-ever portfolio day. Representatives from area universities and museums as well as local visual artists will be on hand to review your artwork, provide feedback and advice, and answer questions in a supportive environment. This is a non-competative and fun way to get feedback on your artwork in preparation for applying to college. Your portfolio should include 5-10 pieces of your best and most recent work, but it can also include works in progress, sketchbooks and tear sheets. Come prepared to discuss your creative influences and process.

This program is free and open to high school students in Durham, Orange, Person, Granville and Wake Counties. Students must register in advance to attend. A limited number of spaces are available and priority will be given to students in their junior and senior year of high school.
