At The Zebra, we know better than most just what a pain buying car insurance can be. We also know that students suffer from higher-than-average policy rates. Talk about a double-whammy. That’s why, this year, we’ve decided to continue The Zebra’s annual scholarship with the goal of helping to alleviate the financial pressures of college-bound students in the North Carolina area, while also getting an insider view of the Tar Heel State. Prompt So, students, we want to see your favorite road trip destination(s) in your state— from your unique perspective. If it makes sense to hit the open road and be our virtual tour guide, that's great! But there are no limits to what we're looking for: a narrated animation, a slideshow of memorabilia, an illustrated map of the best roadside attractions on the way. Has the senior already taken the ACT? Is the senior planning on retaking the ACT on December 14th, 2019? If the answer is YES to both questions then the Senior may qualify for our FREE 8 - week ACT test prep course. The Senior must be available to attend ALL sessions and complete ALL assignments. Test prep will occur TWICE a week from 5:00-7:00pm and we will solidify the designated dates based on the highest availability. Sessions will begin the week of October 14, 2019 and run through the week of December 2, 2019. To qualify, the Senior must: - attend a Durham Public School - have scored at least a 14 ACT Composite Score - have a 3.0 weighted GPA*; and - apply and submit all documentation by September 27, 2019. *Students below a 3.0 weighted GPA may be considered by emailing Dr. Campbell ( dcampbell@emilyk.org ) with their reasoning and interest in the prep course. The Brockman Scholars Program invites applications for a merit-based full-ride scholarship that covers five years of study at the College Station campus of Texas A&M University. The Brockman Scholarship supports four years of undergraduate study in an approved Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics (STEM) program followed by the one-year MS Business graduate degree for non-business majors at Texas A&M’s Mays Business School. Top students are encouraged to apply for this prestigious scholarship via the application portal at www.brockmanfoundation.org. The Voices of Tufts Diversity Experiences, sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, are overnight programs designed to expose high school seniors to the diversity of the Tufts community. Participants have the opportunity to experience academic and social life by staying in a residence hall with an undergraduate student, attending lectures from professors, eating meals in the dining halls, and watching a student-led showcase by several on-campus performance groups. Travel assistance is available for students for whom the trip would present a financial hardship.
