FREE Test Prep -- for Seniors Only!


Has the senior already taken the ACT? 
Is the senior planning on retaking the ACT on December 14th, 2019? 

If the answer is YES to both questions then the Senior may qualify for our  FREE 8 - week ACT test prep course. The Senior must be available to attend ALL sessions and complete ALL assignments. Test prep will occur TWICE a week from 5:00-7:00pm and we will solidify the designated dates based on the highest availability.

Sessions will begin the week of October 14, 2019 and run through the week of December 2, 2019.

To qualify, the Senior must: 
- attend a Durham Public School
- have scored at least a 14 ACT Composite Score
- have a 3.0 weighted GPA*; and
- apply and submit all documentation by September 27, 2019.

*Students below a 3.0 weighted GPA may be considered by emailing Dr. Campbell (dcampbell@emilyk.org) with their reasoning and interest in the prep course.

Interested seniors should complete the Free ACT Test Prep Form. They should also drop-off or email an unofficial transcript and previous ACT score report by September 27, 2019.

Project Uplift and Uplift PLUS   These enrichment programs enable high-achieving, current high school juniors to experience college life on the Carolina campus. We need your assistance in identifying outstanding students to participate in these unique experiences.  PROJECT UPLIFT seeks to engage current high school juniors in an immersive two-day experience that connects them with UNC-Chapel Hill and other four-year colleges and universities. $1,000 Scholarship For Those Affected By Auto Accidents

The Dirk Derrick Car & Truck Accident Injury Scholarship is an award for any  current or soon-to-be undergraduate   student in the United States  who has had his or her life altered due to an injury from a car or truck accident, be it their own injury, that of a loved one, or an influential individual. The Dirk Derrick Scholarship has a brief submission process, and applicants will be judged  on their ability to convey the lasting effect an auto accident has had on their life as well as their journey to overcome those challenges.  Applicants may apply via the Google Form below.
