AsULead Summer Program at App State

AsULead at Appalachian State University is a four-day residential experience that equips select rising seniors from historically underrepresented backgrounds to:
be competitive for selective colleges and scholarship programs
understand how career objectives relate to college majors
become better leaders through training in leadership and cultural awareness
return to their communities as ambassadors for college success

If selected, students will receive a scholarship that covers meals, lodging, transportation from central pick-up locations, and all necessary supplies for the AsULead program.

Central pick-up locations for summer 2018 are Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh

Topics covered in workshops and small groups sessions are as follows:
essay and résumé writing
career counseling
team building skills
interviewing and presentation skills
financial aid literacy

Students must submit the application by May 15 and have a school counselor or teacher complete the required reference form to be considered for the AsULead program. All applicants will be notified of their selection by June 1. For questions, contact Dominique Harrison at harrisondn@appstate.edu.
