Call for Nominations: Full Ride to Davidson College for Scholar Athletes






LOWELL L. BRYAN SCHOLARSHIP


An award for top scholar athletes, valued at $35,000 annually.

As a scholar athlete, you know the meaning of hard work and setting goals, and the importance of discipline and focus. You are as comfortable discussing literature, science, and art as you are in the pool, or on the court, the track or the field. That training has paid off.

You must be nominated by your school or by a member of the Davidson coaching staff to be considered for a Lowell L. Bryan Scholarship. The scholarship is renewable, totaling up to $140,000 during the recipient's Davidson career, provided you continue to play your eligible sport, maintain a specified grade point average, and meet requirements toward earning a degree.

ELIGIBILITY

One female and one male scholar athlete in each first-year class are awarded the scholarship.
To be considered, you must participate in an eligible sport:
  • Men's Golf
  • Wrestling
  • Baseball
  • Men's and Women's Cross Country
  • Men's and Women's Soccer
  • Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving
  • Men's and Women's Tennis
  • Men's and Women's Track and Field
  • Men's and Women's Indoor Track
  • Women's Field Hockey
  • Women's Lacrosse
  • Women's Volleyball
(Football and Men's and Women's Basketball are not sports eligible for the Bryan Scholarship.)

If you would like to be nominated for the Bryan Scholarship, please submit an application to Mrs. Brown at tiffany.brown@dpsnc.net including your resume and/or brag sheet, the contact information for your coach and a statement on how being a Scholar Athlete has impacted you. Make sure to title your email "Nomination for Bryan Scholarship". Applications are due by 3pm on Friday, September 14, 2018.

Scholarship Value:  $5,000 Awards Available:  1 Award Deadline:  March 15, 2019 The John Wright Memorial Scholarship Program funds one student scholarship per year. This scholarship was established at TREE Fund by Wright Tree Service in honor and memory of its founder, John L. Wright, and his son, John R. Wright. The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.
