BBB Torch Scholarships

BBB Torch Scholarships recognize students who personify high ethical standards as demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity, and academic history.
Torch Scholarships are given to college-bound high school juniors, seniors, and college undergraduates who reside or attend school within BBB of Eastern North Carolina's 33-county service area. Scholarship prizes totaling $20,000 will be awarded in Spring 2019.

Entries due by January 31, 2019 at 4:30pm
Eligibility
Current college-bound high school juniors and seniors, and college undergraduates who reside or attend school within BBB of Eastern NC’s 33-county service area.
Video Entry Criteria (2018 Scholarships)
In place of an essay, this year we request that you send us a short (c. 30-45 seconds) video giving insight into who you are and what makes you unique.
Professional quality videos are neither expected nor required. You can use your phone. Be thoughtful about your production and have fun with it.  Please note:  these videos will be used at our April 18, 2019 awards luncheon as a means of introducing scholarship winners.
Deadline
BBB must receive entries by 4:30pm on January 31, 2019.
Submit your completed digital entry or mail a hard copy version of it typed on 8.5” x 11” paper. Entries must be received by BBB prior to the deadline in order to qualify. All entries become the property of BBB. If submitting hard copy application, send to:

Winning Entries
Judging of entries will be completed in March, 2019. The winners' videos will be shown to introduce scholarship recipients at the awards presentation luncheon on April 18, 2019.

John Wright Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Value:  $5,000 Awards Available:  1 Award Deadline:  March 15, 2019 The John Wright Memorial Scholarship Program funds one student scholarship per year. This scholarship was established at TREE Fund by Wright Tree Service in honor and memory of its founder, John L. Wright, and his son, John R. Wright. The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.
