Art Contest and Art Show Opportunity

The Triangle Park Chapter of the Links, Inc. is looking for visual artists between the ages of 14 and 22 for two opportunities: (1) to display original pieces at an art showcase in late October/early November in Durham and (2) to submit an application in connection with a Call for Artists. The Call for Artists is an initiative where the organization (committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry) is requesting the submission of art works inspired by the theme “When and Where We Gather.” The winning artist's image, selected from a vision statement and submitted sample, will have his/her image reproduced and sold to benefit Southern Area programming and scholarships for students. They will also receive a stipend for the work completed towards this initiative.

To participate in the art show and/or apply for the Call for Artists, interested artists (between the age of 14-22) should contact Danielle Wilson at dwilson@bankslawfirm.com or 919-474-9137 and provide a sample of the artists’ original artwork (in a .jpeg file), and a written narrative explaining the artist’s vision/plan to create a piece inspired by the theme “When and Where we Gather” by August 26, 2019.

Note: this artist call is not being organized by the Nasher Museum. Please direct any questions to Danielle Wilson at dwilson@bankslawfirm.com.
